My Instant Death Ability is So Overpowered, No One in This Other World Stands a Chance Against Me! Volume 13 Chapter 11
CHAPTER 11
Ah. I've Seen This in a Game. I Wondered if it's Really Possible, is it?
"Forget about the clothes! We need to cover ourselves, now!" Tomochika Dannoura exclaimed as if she noticed something in the town.
"Why?"
"Because your face is now public!"
"I see. We can't afford to stand around in a daze."
Fortunately, there were no people in the town, but if they lingered for too long, someone would come.
Yogiri's face was known, and there were countless people who had people close to them killed by Yogiri. If they encountered someone like that, they could immediately end up in a fight.
Yogiri would never lose in a fight, but he did not want to kill everyone he met. If he could avoid a fight, he should.
"We can't go to the inn. Mokomoko, are there any vacant houses around here?"
'A vacant house? If this town was created for the game, I wonder if there are any unused buildings...'
The town was nearly shaped like a square with a side length of about a hundred meters. It was surrounded by walls, so it was probably a space like an underground hollow.
There were important facilities such as the adventurer's guild and the weapons shop in the center of the town, and there were scattered residential-looking buildings around it. There seemed to be various types of accommodation, from a large inn where many people could stay to a small hut, but there were not many, so it would be difficult to find a vacant house.
'For now, it would be better to hide in the shadow of one of these buildings.'
Mokomoko was Tomochika's guardian spirit and could not be far from her. However, she was able to move within the limits of this town.
Mokomoko flew softly and Yogiri and Tomochika hid in the shadow of a building. Of course, they would be found as soon as someone went outside, so it was just a temporary relief.
After a while, Mokomoko returned.
'It doesn't seem to be an abandoned house, but there is a building with no one in it.'
There was no time to relax and think, Yogiri and company decided to move to that building.
They move from the central part to a corner of the town.
There was a two-story wooden building there. It was probably one of the larger residences in the town.
Yogiri turned the doorknob of the entrance door, but it was locked.
"What are you doing trying to get in here without a fight!?"
Atila was taken aback.
"Isn't it an empty house?"
" ... No, something's wrong. I have the feeling that it's someone else's territory ... or rather! To intrude into someone else's home without showing some sort of apology, can't you apologize at least a little bit!?"
"You worry about such things as a dragon? It's not much compared to crushing a human's home."
"I've never done that! I've never attacked a human town!"
"Anyway, how do we get in? I can kill the lock, but..."
If you kill something, it becomes fragile and you can open it. But that will cause great trouble for the homeowner. Of course, invading someone's home without permission is a problem in itself.
"I think I can open this much."
"Yeah! If it's this much, we can do anything with the Dannoura Unlocking Technique!"
Tomochika pulled out two hairpins from somewhere.
"Ah. I've seen this in a game. I wondered if it's really possible, is it?"
"It's a cylinder lock. If you put tension on it while aligning the pick like this... like this."
As soon as the hairpin was inserted into the keyhole, Tomochika unlocked the lock in a flash.
"You're a little too good at this, aren't you?"
Even Yogiri was taken aback by this.
"What has become of your conscience... Dragons have a sense of territory, and they wouldn't recklessly invade someone else's territory..."
'I guess it's an ethical thing. Now that I think about it, I haven't really paid attention to it since I came to this world.'
For Yogiri, the current situation was a state of emergency, and everything he needed to do to return to his original world was like an emergency evacuation.
"You are, after all, an enemy of this world..."
Atila was nervous. Indeed, if Yogiri was said to be harmful to this world, she could not deny it.
"Uh... can we talk about ethics inside? If we're found here, it'll be bad."
"No, I don't intend to drag on that kind of conversation..."
Yogiri and Tomochika quickly entered the building.
"We had to intrude to hide, but let's cause as little trouble as possible!"
For some reason, Atila was taking care of it.
"...Atila-chan is acting like a sensible person."
"Why must I explain human ways to you, Takatou, even though I am a dragon..."
"But no one lives here, right?"
A hallway extended straight from the entrance. It was dimly lit and the air was stagnant, but it was unclear if anyone was living there.
"I heard that Cavern Quest is reset every season. Maybe the building has been remodeled too?"
"Well, with so many towns like this, it wouldn't be strange if something happened."
It didn't feel like an abandoned house. There were items of furniture and it seemed like someone could live there, but there was no sense of life.
"Or maybe it's not that nobody's living here, but something else is residing... Is it really safe?"
Tomochika looked around with a worried expression.
'No people.'
"That's a loaded statement!"
"We won't be staying long. We need to move as soon as we have a plan."
They continued down the hallway and opened the door at the end.
"Noo-uwaaah!"
Tomochika let out a strange cry.
In what appeared to be the living room, dolls were placed everywhere. On shelves, on desks, and even on the floor.
And on the sofa, someone was sitting.
Of course, that too was a doll. But it was a lifelike, full-sized female doll, so it wouldn't be surprising if it were mistaken for a person in the dim room.
"Is everything okay? Not moving?"
"In a fantasy world, it's not strange even if it starts moving."
"Now that you mention it, I remember there was a girl who used such a technique."
Yogiri Takatou approached the sofa. There was no attack, it was just a doll after all.
Yogiri Takatou put the doll on the floor and sat on the sofa.
Dai seemed uneasy and was restless.
"How can you be so unconcerned...?"
"It's no use worrying about a doll."
"Is it really okay here? Are you sure we're not heading toward another danger with the intention of hiding?"
"Let's just take a quick look."
"Just talking normally... well, being nervous wouldn't change anything..."
Tomochika and Atila sat on the sofa opposite Yogiri.
"First of all, about the Philosopher's Stones---"
They had come to Cavern Quest in search of the Philosopher's Stones.
Yogiri Takatou and the others had planned to collect the stones, but all the stones they acquired and those they already had disappeared. Apparently, the stones had merged and taken human form, before disappearing into thin air.
"So, when we talked to Shiro about it, I heard a message from the Great Sage, but Takatou-kun didn't hear it, right?"
"Yeah. Why is he excluding me? What a pain."
"Well, I'll tell you exactly as I remember it."
Tomochika told Yogiri the message she heard from the Great Sage.
According to her, the world had been reset, but those killed by Yogiri did not exist in the current world.
Unfortunately, Yogiri's abilities and the victims of those abilities were all disclosed, and, according to the Great Sage, if Yogiri were to die, the world would return to the way it was originally.
In other words, the Great Sage was suggesting that Yogiri be killed.
'Furthermore, the words of the Great Sage had a compulsory force. Therefore, most people would have believed everything.'
"So, does that mean there will be nobody attacking us?"
Yogiri thought optimistically. If everyone believed the words of the Great Sage, they wouldn't even think of fighting against an opponent who could kill at will by just thinking and automatically counterattack if they sense killing intent.
"That's right. I heard that if you go to the final area with the last boss, they'll grant you a power of your choice. I think he wants them to fight you with it."
"So even if they don't attack right now... in the end, they'll attack..."
"What's wrong?"
Yogiri's words suddenly weakened and Tomochika looked at him worriedly.
"No... I'm getting kind of sleepy..."
"That's right, you mentioned something like that!"
Suddenly, the sleepiness overcame him and Yogiri lay down on the sofa.
This marks the beginning of ACT 2.
Thanks sooo much!! How can I donte to help you put all of vol 13 into one doc??
ReplyDeleteJust buy the LN volume from J-Novel Club. It costs 699 coins ($6.99), a portion of which goes to the author, it has more content than the WN, and isn't "mostly a MTL with some modifications".

So true, Anon. I would recommend, actually, pirating it and then buying the japanese version with that money, so that you can support the author with more than pennies!
DeleteThe company that licensed and translated the light novel into English deserves compensation too so don't just pirate it.
DeleteBy the way, even if you buy the Japanese version the author is only going to get a pathetically small portion of that in royalties so if you actually want to give money to the author don't buy the Japanese version, instead subscribe to their PIXIV FANBOX: https://fujitaka.fanbox.cc/
