My Instant Death Ability is So Overpowered, No One in This Other World Stands a Chance Against Me! Volume 13 Chapter 3
CHAPTER 3
Then it's Your Fault!
"What happened to that Van guy?"Van was the one who had created this game of Cavern Quest, and he was the one who was responsible for everything. Yogiri thought that Sage Van would be the one to explain about the Philosopher's Stone, although he might leave the trivial matters to the submasters.
"That's right, isn't it. I was slightly wounded in my pride, or rather......, I was a little bit depressed, and the trouble was forced on me, who happened to be with Van at the time." The man who introduced himself as 'Shirou' said with a wry smile. Since he said it like it was such a hassle, Shirou probably didn't want to do it too much.
"Well. First, let's call a truce, shall we?"
"I don't mind."
"I'm not good! What the hell is this?! It's not right for the game management to come out and attack one side or the other! We're just playing within the rules of the game! Just because it's not good for them doesn't mean it's bad for you as well!"
"Well, I don't think it's balanced."
The horned boy, Naltin, was enraged. Yogiri, too, felt that Naltin's argument was reasonable. It may be a flaw in the specifications or a bug that allows monsters to attack the town, but even so, there should be a warning first, not an abrupt sanction.
"What attack?" Shirou asked back so naturally that Naltin was puzzled.
"Ha?! No, you came out here, and my crew dissappeared! That's not balanced!"
"No, I did convert them to armor and weapons, but..."
"Then it's your fault!"
"No, maybe he converted them into armor to settle the situation for the time being. He might put them back later."
If it could be undone, Yogiri thought, it might not even be called an attack.
"Really? Then fine! I'll forgive you, but just put them back."
"No, the conversion to armor is irreversible, so it can't be undone."
"Then it's still an attack! You're trying to fight me, aren't you?"
"But it seems strange that only Naltin's side is attacked. Is it a penalty for abusing a bug?
In most online games, even if it was a bug caused by the developer's mistake, there were penalties such as account deletion if the player took advantage of the bug to gain unauthorized profits. Considering that Cavern Quest is like an online game, it wouldn't be surprising if the management took harsh measures.
"Takatou, why didn't you just go through with it...."
Yogiri and the others were also using the gate to bring in a monster. Tomochika thought it was a bad idea to mention that, though.
"...That a monster has come to town.... For now, it is a specification, so there is no penalty. However, if it interferes with the progress of the game, we will think about how to deal with it."
"Then what is the problem?"
"I get very sick when I see monsters crowded together."
Shirou said this, and everyone in the room fell silent. They could not immediately understand what he was saying.
"Is them being densely packed together creepy or something? Isn't that called trypophobia?"
That's what Yogiri came up with as he tried to understand.
Trypophobia is a collective phobia, a psychological tendency to develop an aversion to a condition in which there are numerous small holes.
"I think it's similar, but a little different. In my case, I find the sight of a swarm of creatures horrifying, but I don't particularly care if there are lots of little holes."
"I thought they looked decent, but I knew you Sages were like this!"
".....Hah? What does that mean? My boys turned into weapons or something just because you felt like it?"
"I guess the original level was low. They're all useless weapons, trash tier."
"........I'll kill you!"
Naltin picked up a pillar that was propped up beside him and swung it down at Shirou.
However, the pillar flew off in an unexpected direction, and a sword fell to the ground.
This time, Yogiri saw the exact moment. He witnessed the entire process of Naltin's body becoming hardened and compressed into a single sword.
"He was at a reasonable level, and turned out to be an okay weapon. But it's not exactly rare, and I'd say it's a slightly more expensive store-bought sword."
Shirou picked up the sword that had been Naltin.
"Eh? Sold in a store?"
Tomochika stared at the sword in disbelief.
"My role in the game is the production of armors and level design. My main job is to balance the game by setting up ways to obtain weapons based on their rank."
"You mean, like, the armor I'm wearing...."
"The armor is a Machef Druid, and the baskets are Gamaran Andorra."
"Nooooo!!!!"
Tomochika began hurriedly removing her armor.
