My Instant Death Ability is So Overpowered, No One in This Other World Stands a Chance Against Me! Volume 13 Chapter 2

 CHAPTER 2

If it Doesn't Generate an Unlimited Number of Creatures, I Wonder if it'll End Eventually. Here's Hoping.

"That was Hanakawa, right? The guy that suddenly had a hole put in his chest? Van was a disaster, that guy. I mean, We can't even resist him in this place. I was wondering what I was gonna do if they gutted me as well or something."

When the boy took the pillar he was carrying on his shoulder and placed it on the ground so that it stood up, the earth shook with a tremor. It seemed incredibly heavy.
Perhaps the shaking was a signal, for monsters appeared from each of the buildings, and a total of about 20 of them came up behind the boy.
It seemed that the boy is in command of the monster army that had attacked the town.

"......Oi. That's-- I can't detect anyone since that thing was placed."

Atila pointed fearfully at the pillar.
Yogiri looked at the pillar, which was about twice the height of the boy.
It was a mass of flesh. It must have been made up of several people. Arms, legs, and faces were pressed into a cylindrical shape.

"That's in very bad taste."
"Maybe killing them would comfort them. They don't seem very happy to be living like this, do they?"

Yogiri looked at the pillar. It seemed to be alive, as it was wriggling slightly and making small moaning noises. Then, he realized that one of the people that were part of the pillar was the guild's receptionist.
From what the boy had said, he might have needed a guild official to pass through the gates.

"What are you doing here?"
"What am I doing here? I'm just playing the game that some asshole Sage set up for me.
"So that's what you were told it is?"

Yogiri felt somewhat indignant, but then he thought to himself that it would be wrong to complain to his party. If he wanted to complain, it was probably better to say something to the Sage who had created this situation.

"I'll get to it. What's your name?"
"What are you asking me that for?" Yogiri wondered, and asked honestly.

"You should know what I'm getting at. This sort of thing happens all the time."
"Aah!"

Yogiri thought back to the rule about DP: it can be obtained via dramatic words and deeds, but all DP is invalid if the dramatic event was arranged in advance.

"Right. Well, then, when you ask people their names, tell them yours."
"Ah. You're kidding me. Fine. I'm one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Gorbaggion. The Weakest Naltin."
"On that note, what the hell?!" Tomochika was taken aback.

"You said 'Weakest' was your title?" Yogiri, thinking he had heard wrong, asked back.

"Exactly right, 'Weakest' meaning, of course, that I am the weakest. Among the Four Heavenly Kings, that is.
"You seem strangely proud! Are you satisfied with being the weakest!?"
"You know, I don't think I'm the weakest, like my title implies I am. But being the weakest among the Four Heavenly Kings gives me more character than being the strongest, right?"
"Is that so.....I wonder?"
"No, I have my own feelings about it, but Lord Gorbaggion has made up his mind."
'I have a lot of things I want to ask about that, like who Gorbaggion is in the first place, or why the Four Heavenly Kings got their name from the Buddhist terminology.'
"That's enough about me. Alright. You can say your name, too."
"This is Atila, the dragon, and this is Edelgard the guard."

Yogiri introduced Atila and Edelgard and stepped back.
Tomochika and Sakut, perhaps reading the atmosphere, followed along.

"What the hell is going on?!"
"Oi... I thought I was gonna be able to introduce myself."

Atila and Edelgard, left in front, were stunned.

"He has the Philosopher's Stone in his body. If I kill him, the stone will lose its power, so I'm hoping you can block his movements and remove the stone."
"Mmmm!? Then maybe it can't be helped, but something doesn't add up!
"Is that all? Then I'm going to fight with you," Tomochika blurted out.

"They seem strong, so I think you should leave it to them."

Yogiri was also armed, but he did not feel as if he could win a fight against a pack of monsters.

"Actually, you could just kill the monsters behind him."
"I'd prefer it if we didn't have to use my powers to win."

Yogiri felt that he had no choice but to defeat them if they attacked him, but he did not intend to use his power aggressively.

"Oh, well! They'll get it over with quickly!"

Atila put her palm forward and released lightning breath.
However, the lightning breath, which was intended to annihilate a wide area at once, concentrated on a single point.
The lightning concentrated on a monster in front of the boy and only that monster. It's charred and disfigured body fell down.

"What the hell?! There was never a monster there in the first place!"
"If that's the case, maybe they somehow multiplied unnoticed?"

Earlier, there must have been only about twenty of them behind the boy. But now the monsters were surrounding Yogiri and his friends.

"And there are more pillars!?"

As Tomochika said, there were objects similar to the pillars by the boy standing all over the place.

'Is that a monster emerging from that pillar?'

Lumps of flesh swelled up from the pillars, spilling over and becoming monsters. It seemed that more and more monsters were growing one after another from the several pillars.

"Well.... when these things come out, it's like 'Oh no, not again.'"

Tomochika looked fed up.

'You've come a long way, haven't you?'
"Considering the journey we've been on, isn't that unavoidable?"
'Indeed. But isn't this situation hard for Atila and Edelgard alone to handle?'

They were outnumbered. One monster might not seem that strong, but against such a large number, it would have to have a great difference in strength to be able to compete with them.
Atila had been trying to defeat them all at once with her Thunder Breath, but there was a monster in the herd that would draw the attack in and catch it. No matter how powerful the attack was, it would only be able to defeat one of them as a shield.

"I thought if we had to use adventurers to get through the gate, it might be hard to send a bunch of monsters through, so this was a no-brainer."

Naltin was the only one who came along with the adventurers, and the monsters must have appeared after he arrived in town.

Given the fact that the receptionist is incorporated into the pillar, I'd say it has the ability to take in living creatures and store them.
"If it doesn't generate an unlimited number of creatures, I wonder if it'll end eventually. Here's hoping."
"Don't be absurd!"

It seemed that there was no way out of this situation.
Just as Yogiri was about to use his power to defeat the monster, the monster disappeared all together.

"Yes?"
"Hm?"
"What is this?"
"Heh?"

All of those present were astonished at the same time. Since Naltin himself was also astonished, it did not seem to be something he had done.
Although they were only conscious of the fact that the monster had suddenly disappeared, there were countless pieces of armaments scattered around the area.
It seemed like they might have belonged to the monster, but they were all as good as new.

"Excuse me. May I tell you something about Cavern Quest?"

The voice came from above.
Looking up at the sky, a young man with a long coat and glasses was floating in the air.
The young man landed softly between Yogiri and Naltin.

"Who are you?"
"I am the submaster of this game. Or, would it be easier to say that I am Shirou the Sage?" Shirou answered Yogiri's question in a matter-of-fact manner.
